Cookie Policy
Last updated: 1 May 2026
This Cookie Policy explains how cookies and similar technologies are used on the engagelayer.io website (engagelayer.io) and in the assistant widget we deploy on your website.
1. What cookies are
Cookies are small text files stored on your device by your browser. They help websites remember your preferences, keep you signed in, and measure performance.
2. Cookies we use on engagelayer.io
Strictly necessary: session ID, authentication token (when signed in), CSRF protection. Functional: language preference, currency display. Analytics: anonymized page-view counts (no personal identifiers). We do not use marketing or advertising cookies on our own site.
3. Cookies the assistant uses on your website
When the engagelayer.io assistant is embedded on your website, it sets one strictly-necessary cookie to remember an ongoing conversation across page reloads. The cookie expires after 7 days of inactivity. No tracking cookies, no fingerprinting, no third-party advertising IDs.
4. Visitor consent
Before the assistant collects any contact details, it shows a clear consent message that you configure in your account. Visitors must explicitly agree before their information is stored or forwarded to your sales team.
5. How to manage cookies
You can clear or block cookies via your browser settings. Blocking strictly-necessary cookies on engagelayer.io will prevent sign-in. Blocking the assistant cookie on your visitors' browsers will simply reset their conversation on each page reload.
6. Do Not Track
We honour the DNT browser signal. When DNT is set, we disable analytics cookies entirely.
7. Updates
When we change cookie usage materially, we notify customers by email and update this page.
