It puts a smart AI assistant on your B2B website. Visitors ask real questions and get answers drawn only from your approved business content — in their own language. The assistant qualifies them as they chat and hands real leads, with full context, to your sales team.
What problem does it solve?
Most B2B websites lose the vast majority of their traffic: visitors arrive, browse, and leave without ever talking to anyone. engagelayer.io engages them in a real conversation at the moment of highest intent and turns that interest into qualified pipeline.
How do I add it to my website?
You add one small script tag with your public key — the same way you'd add any analytics snippet. No backend changes, no code in your app. The public key only identifies your widget; it grants no dashboard access.
Will I need a developer or my IT team?
Usually not. Installing the snippet and uploading your content are self-serve from the dashboard. If you'd rather we handle setup, onboarding help is available — but it's optional, not required.
Will my team need to learn anything technical?
No. Day-to-day you work in one simple dashboard — uploading content, reviewing conversations, and seeing where leads go. If you can use a modern web app, you can run it.

Will my data be used to train AI models?

What counts as a "qualified lead"?
A visitor who had a meaningful conversation, showed real intent (asked specific questions, mentioned volumes, asked about pricing or a demo) and left contact details with consent. A Hot / Warm / Cool temperature shows urgency at a glance.
How is lead temperature decided?
The assistant scores each conversation on buying-intent signals — pricing questions, stated volumes, demo requests, a work email, repeated deep follow-ups. Strong intent reads Hot, genuine interest reads Warm, casual browsing reads Cool.
Can I see the full transcript of a conversation?
Yes. Open any conversation in the dashboard to see the full transcript, an AI summary, the detected needs, the score breakdown and a recommended next step.
When does the assistant ask for contact details?
You configure it. By default, after a few meaningful exchanges — or right away when a visitor mentions pricing, a demo, implementation or volume, or asks to talk to a person. The trigger and wording are fully customisable.
Can a visitor talk to a real person mid-conversation?
When a visitor asks for a human, or raises pricing, contracts, or volumes, the assistant collects their details, forwards the full conversation to your team, and confirms follow-up — so nothing gets lost and the visitor does not repeat themselves.
Can I export my conversation and lead history?
Yes. Granular export (filtered by date, language, topic or temperature) is available with admin confirmation, and the action is recorded in your audit log. Bulk full-history dumps are blocked at platform level by design.

What if I don't use a CRM?
We email your sales team a clean conversation summary — visitor details, what they asked, lead temperature and a recommended next step. A webhook can push the same data anywhere you like.
Can I route leads by priority?
Deliver leads to Pipedrive, email, or your webhook, and route by temperature — Hot leads can go to a priority destination so your team sees urgent enquiries first. Advanced rules such as round-robin, by rep, region, or language are configured during setup.
How quickly do leads arrive?
Within seconds of a visitor leaving their details. The transcript, summary, and recommended next step arrive together.
Can I preview what my sales team receives?
Yes. The "Where leads go" screen shows a live preview of exactly what gets delivered — visitor details, interest area, transcript, temperature, recommended next step and source.
Do you support WhatsApp, Slack or Microsoft Teams?
Leads are delivered to your CRM, email, or webhook. Ask us about WhatsApp, Slack, or Microsoft Teams during onboarding if you want leads in those channels.

Which languages does the assistant work in?
The assistant detects each visitor's language and answers from a single knowledge base — no duplicate content per language. The dashboard and site are available in English, German, French, Spanish, Polish, and Latvian; visitor-facing answers go well beyond those six.
Can it answer in a language different from my source documents?
Yes. Even when your content is only in English, the assistant detects the visitor's language and answers in it, on top of your approved content.
Can the sales summary be in my team's language?
Summaries are delivered in English by default. Multi-language summaries for your team can be configured on request.
Does the dashboard work in every language?
The dashboard is available in English, German, French, Spanish, Polish, and Latvian. The assistant's visitor-facing answers aren't limited to those six.

Security, privacy & GDPR

Where is my data stored, and who can access it?
Your organization gets an isolated workspace, hosted in the EU by default (Frankfurt), backups in the EU. Isolation is enforced at the database layer with PostgreSQL Row-Level Security and per-tenant vector retrieval — not just an application filter. No other customer can reach your data, and the assistant only ever answers from your knowledge base.
How long do you keep visitor conversations?
You choose the retention window (e.g. 30 / 90 / 180 / 365 days); after that, conversations are deleted automatically. Anonymous conversations with no captured contact details can be removed sooner.
Are you GDPR-aligned?
Yes. EU hosting by default, consent captured before any visitor data is stored, data minimisation, configurable retention, easy export and erase, and an append-only audit log. A Data Processing Agreement (Article 28) is available on request and with every paid contract.
Can my visitors request data deletion?
Yes. Deletion requests go to the address you configure and are processed within the GDPR window; the action is recorded in your audit log.
How is the AI connection secured?
The AI connection is managed by us over encrypted channels, and your content and conversations are encrypted at rest and processed only inside your isolated tenant — never a shared pool. You can also bring your own AI provider key, so you control which model account processes your data. Pausing the assistant or wiping your knowledge base stops processing immediately.
Is your AI safe for regulated industries like finance, legal and healthcare?
That's exactly what it's built for. The assistant answers only from content you approve, can cite its sources, never trains general AI models on your data, and everything is hosted in the EU with a GDPR Article 28 DPA on every paid contract.
Do you train AI models on our data?
No. Your content is used only to answer your own visitors' questions. We never use it to train general or shared AI models.

How is a "conversation" defined?
A conversation is one continuous exchange between a single visitor and your assistant within a browsing session — every message, follow-up and clarification in that session counts as one conversation.
Is the AI usage included, or billed separately?
Included. We run a managed AI connection, so there's nothing separate to set up or pay — your plan covers your monthly conversation allowance. Prefer your own AI account? You can bring your own provider key instead.
What happens if I approach my conversation limit?
We flag it well ahead of time, and you simply move to a plan that matches your real traffic. No surprise overage bills.
Is there an annual discount?
Yes — 15% off when you pay annually. Toggle Monthly / Yearly in the pricing section to see exact prices.
Can I change or cancel my plan?
Yes — no lock-in. Contact us to upgrade, downgrade, or cancel; we export your data and clean up website and CRM connections when you leave.
